About Us/Our History

In the summer of 1992, the owner of the Magic Carpet “Bulletin Board” wanted to start a local affiliate of the People Exchanging Power (P.E.P.) network,  founded by Nancy Ava Miller. “Wicked Wanda” started organizing monthly gatherings for the members of her bulletin board.

In the fall of 1995, representatives of the South Side group found there was a similar group on the peninsula called the Anchor Munch Group. Anchor and P.E.P. regularly started to attend each other’s functions.

In the summer of 1996, the members of the group formally voted to become a “Non-Profit” support group known as Tidewater People Exchanging Power     (T.P.E.P.)

In 1998, T.P.E.P. saw one last change to the group’s name. The P.E.P organization is a for profit group, where T.P.E.P. remained a not for profit.  In order to break from the association the T.I.E.D. (Tidewater Individuals Exploring Domination) name was adopted.
